When we got there we met with members of the Youth Council and quickly became immersed into the 24 hour prayers and actions that circle the camps.

"Since the election, we at Sankofa.org have had the opportunity to hear and share reflections with key partners and allies about how to stay the course and continue pushing for a progressive human rights agenda amidst the journey ahead. Many have asked, "Where do we go from here?", a question for which there are no easy answers. However, Sankofa.org's commitment to helping elevate critical issues, and creating safe spaces for healing, community and solutions building remains undeterred.
This Election Day, Sankofa.org urges our allies, partners, and all of those who care about justice, peace and equality to vigilantly protect and enforce their right to vote. It is not just the Presidency, but also the future and soul of the entire country that stands to lose most if we do not exercise the collective power of the ballot.

The acquittal of yet another officer responsible fo Freddie Gray's death is an egregious miscarriage of justice, and demonstrates that merica's legal systems are not designed to protect or serve Black and Brown people. It is unconscionable that neither officer Goodson nor Officer Nero are being held accountable for murdering an innocent, unarmed man.
